World of Warcraft: Have Multiple Projects Been Leaked? Is an RTS in the Works?

Blizzard, or Microsoft, must be scratching its head because one of the BlizzCon announcements has apparently leaked.

A new leak appears to have revealed the titles of several spin-off games for the long-running series, including an RTS called Warcraft Chronicles, a new action RPG centered on Arthas, and the next development phase for World of Warcraft Classic. This is partly thanks to a data miner called Stiven on Twitter, who discovered new Heroic and Epic licenses for World of Warcraft: Camelot, which is being speculated to be the next evolution of WoW Classic, known to players as Classic+.

This also sheds light on rumors from May, when popular World of Warcraft streamers hinted that Blizzard was preparing something major specifically for WoW Classic fans while traveling to the Blizzard campus for a secret event. Speculation about the upcoming Classic+ announcement is also linked to a Reddit post containing an image that appears to show a list of Blizzard’s upcoming Warcraft projects. It is easy to see that the studio’s plans clearly include the Warcraft Chronicles RTS, the Arthas ARPG, and Camelot.

The Chronicles RTS is planned for release in 2028, while the Arthas RPG is set for 2029. Camelot, or Classic+, is expected much sooner, specifically in the third quarter of 2026. We know something is being prepared for WoW Classic fans, something Blizzard executive producer Holly Longdale could not reveal at the very end of Blizzard’s State of Azeroth presentation this year. As for the other rumored projects, particularly because their releases seem much further away, plenty could change before 2028. Those projects could be canceled, shifted in direction, or may already have changed, since the image appears to date from last October.

If these projects are indeed being made as part of the Warcraft series, fans have a lot to look forward to. At least Warcraft is not being neglected in the same way the StarCraft franchise has been ignored.
