Ubisoft has received some fairly negative reviews on Valve’s digital platform, perhaps not entirely coincidentally.

Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence was originally released for iOS and Android, and then arrived on PC in April via the Ubisoft Connect service (formerly Uplay). It launched on Steam earlier this month, but it did not receive the warmest welcome there. Overall, the game currently has a “Mixed” rating: only 46% of reviews are positive. Players have expressed frustration regarding login issues, mouse-related glitches, and the combination of disappointing rewards and excessive microtransactions typical of the looter-shooter genre.

“Calling it slop disrespects actual slop. I’ve seen Korean gacha games with fewer microtransactions than this. This is scummy even for a free-to-play title. It has the most distracting, convoluted and overcomplicated UI and menus I’ve ever seen in a video game. You spend more time micromanaging than playing missions!”, says one user review.

“Complete ass game. The main issues are balancing and loot progression. All the loot is locked behind daily completions, and you can only do those 4–5 times a day. Then the game scales the XP and rewards down hard! This isn’t a looter shooter; it’s a daily log-in simulator with systems like those in Division. As everyone else has said, just play Division 1 or 2 – this game isn’t worth your time”, reads another review.

Similar to the main entries in the Division series, this is a third-person shooter in which you play as a member of the Strategic Homeland Division, trying to restore order after a pandemic known as the “Green Flu” has plunged the United States into chaos. As in the first game, the story is set in New York, and you will fight your way through locations such as Liberty Island and the New York Stock Exchange. You will be rewarded with loot such as various tactical and baseball caps in slightly different designs.
