.curator: A New, Dynamic Adventure From the Creator of Altered Carbon [VIDEO]

Strtl Games has announced a cinematic single-player adventure RPG for current-generation platforms.

.curator is a brand-new, dynamic adventure game written by Richard K. Morgan, creator of Altered Carbon, and brought to life by an experienced international team under the Strtl Games banner. It features hand-drawn characters and environments, innovative and original gameplay design, and a compelling journey in which you can influence and modify the future of a world that responds to your choices. .curator will be released as an episodic series: purchasing the game will grant access to Episode One, with future episodes arriving as separate downloadable content.

Explore a post-Victorian world that is both familiar and uniquely different to understand and learn its power dynamics. Investigate the relics and ruins of a mysterious ancient alien civilization from this world’s past and ensure they are safe for human hands – if you can! Uncover the corruption at the heart of the regime and confront it. Use the awe-inspiring Quantum Sleet modeling technologies to subtly shift events in favor of safer, more humane outcomes and a better future for all. Upgrade your physical and mental capabilities with neural overclocking to take your mind and body beyond their previous limits.

Use stealth to slip unnoticed into the corridors of power and the back streets of history to enact change, and then disappear without a trace. Bend Quantum Sleet technology to your will to deal with unexpected random factors and emergency situations. Fight, hide, distract, or charm – it’s your choice. Get to know your very own onboard AI assistant, C.R.I.S.S.I., and consult her on your decisions. Take her advice – or don’t. Make irrevocable life-or-death decisions while carrying out your mission and witness the consequences of your choices play out in the future you have created. Confront the consequences of your past mistakes and crimes as a curator and try to find redemption and hope for a better tomorrow.

“.curator blends everything we love about games and films. It delivers a cinematic experience that you actively play, rather than passively watching it. You make the choices; you alter future events – you’re the Curator. We are a small studio built around exceptional talent and the determination to deliver something genuinely exciting that both our team and players will fall in love with.” wrote Oleksii Plaksin, Strtl Games’ art director, in the press release.

“One of the great things about the gaming industry is that it’s constantly pushing the boundaries. You know that somewhere, there’s always someone working on something cool and new that you’ve never seen before. So, when I was invited to join the .curator project by this highly talented group of individuals, some of whom I had already collaborated with, I seized the opportunity. What Strtl are offering here is immersion in real storytelling with real consequences for both the player and the surrounding characters. In a world of ADHD twitch shooters, violent unremitting gore, and loud, brightly colored splash and awe, .curator offers something different: a cooler, more thoughtful and more painterly – and ultimately, I think, more humane – take on the gaming experience.” explained Richard K. Morgan.

.curator is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.

Anikó, our news editor and communication manager, is more interested in the business side of the gaming industry. She worked at banks, and she has a vast knowledge of business life. Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
