Etre is a single-player, third-person action-adventure game inspired by European sci-fi comics from the 1970s and ’80s.
Etre takes place inside Orbis, a planet-scale alien mind on the brink of awakening. Explore an interconnected labyrinth of luminous architecture, solve spatial puzzles, and engage in fluid combat as you search for your lost love and determine the fate of this new intelligence. Drawn across the stars by a mysterious signal, Xyle enters Orbis in search of Atel, his vanished soulmate. A post-human society called the Etre has grown within the World Mind’s body and is split into two factions, each of which wants to use Orbis for its own ends.
Journey through distinct biomes inspired by the visionary science fiction of 1970s and ’80s European graphic novels. Uncover a network of living machines known as Angel Tech and encounter the rogue Living Geometry spawned by their corruption. Piece together the history of a world whose awakening has already begun. Your choices and discoveries will shape the future of Orbis: a living world restored to balance, a transcendent god-mind, or something far more terrifying.
Traverse a vast, interconnected world within an alien mind. Acquire new abilities that will transform the way you move through Orbis and open paths through places you thought you understood. Scan organisms, structures, and machines to reveal hidden functions, reconstruct lost histories, and gradually grasp the emerging intelligence around you. Encounter Anomalies, Pattern Beings, and hostile Living Geometry. Learn their behaviors, use the environment to your advantage, and survive fluid encounters woven into the world’s ecology.
Follow in the footsteps of Atel, your soulmate, and navigate the competing visions of Mal and Weyl, two Etre leaders with incompatible plans for Orbis. Piece together a story about love, awakening, and responsibility as you follow Atel’s echoes and map your entanglement with the World Mind.
Etre is being developed for PC, but it’s unclear when it will be released.
