In August 2024, North Beach Games announced the sequel to Stranded Deep, so the developers haven’t rushed things.
Stranded Deep 2, the next installment in the series, plunges you into a beautiful yet dangerous desert wilderness. Stranded. Alone. No rescue is coming. An endless river carves through a world bursting with life, danger, and discovery. The desert doesn’t care if you survive. You must earn the right to be here. And you will. Every tool and discovery is the result of surviving long enough and venturing far enough to reach it. The deeper you explore, the more you realize there’s more to the desert than simply surviving.
The river winds through canyons, dunes, and valleys, connecting a vast, hand-crafted desert landscape. Navigate the rapids and treacherous waters in your kayak or raft. Every world is different. No two journeys are the same. Scavenge for resources, craft tools, and build a floating home on the river. Pack up and move to the next stretch, or settle on the banks. Everything you build can come with you. Nature is the enemy. Manage your health, hunger, thirst, and exposure to survive another day. Danger is recognizable if you know what to look for: Look for a distant growl, tracks in the sand, or fast-moving water. Pay attention, and you’ll stay alive. Animals roam, hunt, and follow the real food chain. You’re part of it, but you’re not at the top. You can dig into the terrain to reshape the landscape or redirect the river. The world reacts to your actions.
The resources you find shape everything you make. Choose the materials for each part of your tools. Build your structures the same way. Upgrade and customize your gear as you discover better materials. The revamped Cartographer editor lets you create your own locations and experiences to add to your world and share with friends on any platform. Stranded Deep 2 is built on a decade of community feedback and is designed to grow. Regular content updates will add new biomes, locations, wildlife, and crafting, creating a world that grows richer over time and giving you more reasons to explore.
Sam Edwards, co-creator of the first game and creative director of the sequel, is leading the development of Stranded Deep 2, which is scheduled to launch first in Early Access on PC.
