Lost Museum: Echoes of the Chromageists is a game about forgotten masterpieces with stories still left to be told. Echoes of the Chromageists tells the story of the Chromageists, beings with strange faces born from paintings. Unravel the meaning each piece of art holds through their memories. Chromageists. They are beings born of the thoughts, emotions, and memories contained in paintings. Behind each Chromageist’s distinctive, unusual visage lies a mind missing vital memories. One day, a boy named Vince wanders into their home, a place known as the “Lost Museum.”

There, he finds a magic pen with mystical powers. With the pen in hand, Vince draws ever closer to the Chromageists, their emotions, and the mystery behind their lost memories. Our hero is Vince, a human boy. While searching for his missing older brother, he finds himself inside the Lost Museum. He is a bit of a people pleaser and finds himself beholden to the whims of the various Chromageists. However, he is steadily building bonds of trust in the process. His companion is Novi, a childlike Chromageist. He is the first Chromageist Vince meets. Novi’s face is made of glimmering lights, and his small form can often be seen floating around. Novi is quite fond of Vince, and the two grow closer as they encounter the memories of the Chromageists together.

Chromageists are beings with unusual faces born from renowned masterpieces such as Sunflowers, the Mona Lisa, and The Great Wave off Kanagawa. Each Chromageist has their own quirks and opinions, and some reside in the Lost Museum. The Lost Museum is a mysterious gallery within the “Lost Space,” an isolated dimension. Many famous paintings have found their way here, so it has become home to Chromageists born from these works. In the current age, art is slowly disappearing from daily life. There are few opportunities to engage with works of art, and many pieces, along with the knowledge behind them, have been forgotten.

Point and click to explore the interior of the museum. Investigate the paintings and furnishings or talk to the Chromageists to find clues that will help you discover their lost memories. Use the clues you’ve gathered to unravel the mysteries and meanings behind the Chromageists’ missing memories. Use the power of deduction to restore memories. Once their past is revealed, you will be able to unveil the thoughts and emotions each Chromageist holds.

Lost Museum: Echoes of the Chromageists is set to be released in 2027 for the Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. It will support English, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese. Rika Suzuki, who wrote the scripts for Another Code and Hotel Dusk: Room 205.
