Star Wars Zero Company: Maybe Our Shots Won’t Miss Anymore with 100% Accuracy!

The game from Bit Reactor and Respawn Entertainment has received a new update that might make it less frustrating from now on.

The main reason we can’t play Star Wars Zero Company on the “Hard” difficulty level is cowardice. The second reason is the state of the game at launch. It crashed a few times, and the thought of losing our progress due to a crash while saving is enough to make us play with “Iron Man” mode turned off, even though Star Wars Zero Company is much easier than XCOM and defeat seems unlikely. Fortunately, update 1.1 has arrived, and the first patch notes mention fixes for various crash issues. The notes also mention that a bug causing “Beskar” saves to be temporarily deleted has been fixed, as well as a crash related to “Beskar” mode.

They also fixed a bug that caused us to miss shots even when the chance of hitting was 100%. Up until now, we had assumed that the game was rounding the values up. During our gameplay, we had repeatedly missed shots with a 97% chance of hitting—shots that should have been guaranteed hits at point-blank range—so it will be great if we can land those attacks from now on. Another major issue we encountered was that Overwatch didn’t trigger when enemies passed through multiple targeting cones during their turn. Unfortunately, it seems this bug hasn’t been fixed, although several other bugs related to Overwatch engaging units outside the targeting cone or behind solid objects have been. We might wait for another update before enabling Beskar mode.

Bit Reactor, the studio developing Star Wars Zero Company, reportedly sent most of its staff on unpaid leave shortly before the game’s release. We’ve already written about this. Since then, they’ve been operating with only the bare minimum staff. This explains why it took two weeks to fix a few basic issues. We hope they’ll be able to bring some staff back so updates can come more frequently.
