There’s no month where we don’t talk about a Bioware-employee leaving the company behind. Check your March tickboxes folks, because we have another Mass Effect Andromeda staff member quit. Bioware‘s future is looking bleaker as time passes.
This time, it’s Cameron Harris who decided to leave her former employer. It’s another significant blow for the new Mass Effect as she was working on the game as a senior editor. Harris announced her departure on Twitter. She formerly worked on Star Wars: The Old Republic and Dragon Age: Inquisition at Bioware. She had a slight departure to ArenaNet for the first half of 2013 with Guild Wars 2, and she was also an editor at both Nintendo and Microsoft – her resume included Gears of War 3 as well. Where will she go from Bioware? Nowhere; she decided to quit the industry altogether.
Mass Effect Andromeda launches in early 2017 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC according to the publisher Electronic Arts. If Bioware continues to suffer from this brain drain, we wouldn’t like to think how many employees stay on board by the game’s launch.
I’ve decided to exit the video-game industry to return to Seattle for new opportunities there. I’ll be leaving BioWare in mid-April.
