The focus is on Dragon Age.

Yesterday, we talked about how Mark Laidlaw revealed that BioWare is silently working on the next Dragon Age title. Mass Effect is currently halted altogether, and Anthem is now fully in development – however, what about Jade Empire? Laidlaw also talked about it in the 1099 podcast:

„You need passion, you need talent, you need the right people and the right team, and then capacity. I’d be a fool to say we weren’t considering [Jade Empire 2]. If someone said to me ‘What would you do with Jade 2’, I have an answer. I have a very clear answer in my head. But I also recognize that the majority of the leadership of Jade Empire 2, the people who are the passionate vision holders are all on Dragon Age … Let’s put it this way: Dragon Age is fairly distracting. Someone somewhere is going to write an angry thing saying ‘Aha! Dragon Age killed Jade Empire! Well, no. But I think a lot of the folks that still have fond memories of Jade and know it in their bones are still pretty actively engaged in working on your Inquisitions, which takes a hell of a lot of time.”

Don’t expect it to be in development in the next 2-3 years then…
