Although Nintendo stopped producing the little NES, others see money in it…
On the NeoGAF forums, a bootleg console showed up. The big N stopped making the console in April (only to announce the SNES Classic Mini shortly after…), and the fake product popped up on AliExpress/Alibaba, followed by a listing on eBay as well.
How to see if it’s not the real deal? The box isn’t suspicious, but the way Nintendo is written on the console is, not to mention the low-quality look. You can see a booting up of one fake console below. There are more differences there – quoting from NeoGAF’s Lupin the Third:
„
- Game title font size is smaller
- Different spacing above the icons at the top
- 1P/2P boxes use a different pixel-font
- Font on Select and Start button icons is different
- Five full game boxes are visible at once instead of only four with two cut-offs on the sides”
The controller is also off, to be honest. There is an alternative, though: why not get a Raspberry Pi 3?
