The Federal Trade Commission has fined Sony Computer Entertainment for misleading consumers that aired about the PlayStation VITA system. The result of the fine is that Sony will have to compensate early adopters of the system.

The FTC had the following issue with the Vita advertising:

• The Remote play feature (Which did not work exactly as advertised for every game )
• The 3G did not provide live multiplayer, even though such feature was advertised.

All users who bought the PS VITA before the 1st of June 2012 will receive a $25 cash or credit refund, or a $50 PSN voucher.  Furthermore no such similar claims will be allowed from Sony. Users will be contacted by Sony.
