THQ Nordic’s Surprise Title Leaked Early!

A German magazine, GamesMarkt, managed to reveal what THQ Nordic plans to announce at Gamescom prematurely.

On Reddit, the screenshot below showed up, which says a few things about Biomutant before it gets officially announced. Aside from the logo looking like Horizon: Zero Dawn’s (or Denuvo’s, for that matter…), we see that it is going to be an open world, post-apocalyptic kung-fu fable action-RPG with an early 2018 release date.

Let’s stop here for a moment. A post-apocalyptic action-RPG with a natural backdrop? It seems like Guerrilla Games’ PlayStation 4-exclusive (as well as Fist of the North Star) has inspired Experiment 101 quite a lot. They are an independent Swedish studio, which is making the game with Unreal Engine 4 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. We say that because of Stefan Ljungqvist, former dev at Avalanche teased on LinkedIn something that just sounds like Biomutant.

Well then, time to wait for the announcement.
