Spider-Man: There’s More Than Just Peter Parker!

Insomniac Games did a surprising pair of comments regarding their upcoming PlayStation 4-exclusive.

We got a new trailer for the game during Pris Games Week, where we saw Peter Parker without a mask, as well as Mary Jane Watson or Aunt May. The creative director, Bryan Intihar told IGN that Mary Jane, who gave up acting to be a reporter for Daily Bungle, will be a playable character!

„You play, at various stages of the game, as Mary-Jane. It’s a very different experience to playing as Spider-Man. It stays true to her character, regarding her background that she’s a reporter for the Daily Bugle. I like her role in the game, and to put her in a role that maybe we haven’t seen as much. It’s less of a damsel in distress; she’s much more of a capable contributor, a risk-taker in this game.”

Miles Morales also showed up in the video, but Intihar did not comment about his status… but he should be another playable Spider-Man. Intihar also said something else in another interview: „It’s not like you load up the game and he doesn’t have any powers. The first time you’re swinging, the first time you’re fighting, you need to feel like Spider-Man. It’s not about doing something cool, stripping your powers and starting again from scratch. You play Spider-Man to be Spider-Man, and we want you to feel like that right away.” It means all powers will be unlocked from the start!

Spider-Man launches next year, only on PlayStation 4.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
