Gran Turismo 6: The Online Is Dead

One of the last major PlayStation 3-exclusives has closed the road behind itself.

Gran Turismo 6 launched in a somewhat unlucky scenario – at the end of 2013, when the PlayStation 4 was already available. Since then, Polyphony Digital, the developers of the Gran Turismo franchise, has made Gran Turismo Sport (which still requires an internet connection to save your game…) for the PS4, and this game constantly gets new cars each month.

If you try to play Gran Turismo 6 on your PlayStation 3, you won’t see the online functions anymore. The servers have been shut down on March 28, possibly as a bit of punishment for the low sales (for this franchise, five million sales is low)…

So you have to get a PlayStation 4 and Gran Turismo Sport to play online, says Sony and Polyphony. The best part is that they didn’t announce any sales information for Gran Turismo Sport – is it even lower than GT6‘s figures?
