Playground Games, as well as its game, goes through a minor change.
While we’re on this subject, let’s quickly mention that Playground Games, which recently expanded to two studios, were acquired by Microsoft, who also got Undead Labs (State of Decay), Compulsion Games (We Happy Few), as well as Ninja Theory (Hellblade, DmC: Devil May Cry) under its wings.
Let’s talk about Forza Horizon 4 – the official announcement can be read here. Forza Horizon 4 will be available in several formats: the Standard Edition will cost 60 dollars/70 euros (which means that Europeans will have to pay more than Americans – that’s unfair, isn’t it?), Deluxe Edition, containing the 30-dollar value Car Pass, will cost 80 dollars/90 euroes, and Ultimate Edition, which will have the Car Pass, the Day One Car Pack (10-dollar value), VIP membership (20$), and the two expansions (40$), plus early access to the game (we’ll get back to it later), will cost 100 dollars/110 euros, respectively. If you subscribe to Xbox Game Pass, which is ten dollars per month, you’ll get access to Forza Horizon 4, which is unsurprisingly an Xbox Play Anywhere title (buy on one platform, access it on Xbox One/S/X/Windows 10), as soon as it releases. Pre-ordering any version will get you the 7-dollar Formula Drift Car Pack for both Forza Motorsport 7 and Forza Horizon 4.
Forza Horizon 4 will offer over 450 games, 4K resolution and HDR on Xbox One X (and powerful Windows 10 PCs), Britain with season changing (dry, wet, muddy, and snowy surfaces!), weekly content updates, and a fully synchronized, open world (everyone will experience the same world), as well as easy teaming up with other players. (It will also be integrated to Mixer, too.)
Forza Horizon 4 will launch on October 2 on Xbox One and Windows 10. If you buy the Ultimate Edition, you can play from September 28.
