God Of War Takes The PlayStation Throne!

After yesterday’s 131 million dollar launch month digital sales revenue data, another tidbit surfaced regarding Sony Interactive Entertainment Santa Monica’s game, which now can deservedly sit on a throne.

We already knew that God of War is the fastest selling PlayStation 4-exclusive. Well, Mat Piscatella, NPD Group’s analyst told the following to IGN: „I currently project God of War finishing 2018 as the 8th best-selling game in the U.S. market, but a few more months of performance like this and I may have to raise those expectations.”

That’s not all: Piscatella added that Kratos and Atreus isn’t just the fastest selling PlayStation 4-exclusive. No – instead, it’s also the fastest selling PlayStation-exclusive! In the franchise’s 23-year history, until now, 2013’s The Last of Us was holding this position on PlayStation 3, but its sequel could reclaim the throne in the future…

As the gaming industry is slowly becoming mainstream, we wouldn’t be surprised if Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man, due to launch on September 7, will take over this illustrious position…
