Forget Windows 10 Mobile! Switch To iOS Or Android!

TECH NEWS – And it’s not us who says the things above (that wouldn’t be worthy of news), but a major tech company!

That company is none other than Microsoft! Their website has an FAQ about the end of support of Windows 10 Mobile, which will happen on December 10. From that day, „Windows 10 Mobile users are no longer eligible to receive new security updates, non-security hotfixes, free assisted support options or online technical content updates from Microsoft for free.” There are exceptions, though. Those who use a Lumia 640 or a 640 XL have Windows 10 Mobile 1703. Their support will end earlier, on June 11!

In March 2020, the automatic and manual backup functions will stop working, and in December 2020, photo uploading is also set to be shut down on Windows 10 Mobile. Here’s the twist, and let us quote Microsoft once again: „With the Windows 10 Mobile OS end of support, we recommend that customers move to a supported Android or iOS device.” Microsoft is openly telling Windows 10 Mobile users to switch to either Apple’s or Google’s OS!

While Microsoft will make apps supported by iOS or Android, we can still use Windows 10 Mobile after the end-of-life date if we manually make a backup by going to Settings > Update & security > Backup > More Options > Back up now.

So Windows 10, which was meant to be a „one Windows on all platforms” thought, which doesn’t seem to be going as well as the Redmond-based company planned…
