Electronic Arts‘ monthly subscription service is currently only available on Xbox One. It might change shortly.
There’s a photo on Reddit that shows the PlayStation Store. Don’t worry about the Portuguese language (as the picture was taken in Brazil), but let’s take a look at what got circled on it: the „já disponível” term in English is „already available.” However, we see this text under the EA Access logo. Hold on, that’s a twist!
Electronic Arts hasn’t given much attention to the PlayStation 4 users – the company is on Microsoft’s side (EA Access on Xbox One, while the PC users get its Origin Access equivalent, or, for full game early access without any time limitations, there’s also Origin Access Premier), and it might change if we can believe the picture. However, it’s weird that Electronic Arts might be planning to test the system in South America.
Previously, Sony refused EA Access, which allows subscribers access to multiple games from Electronic Arts, maybe even their DLC (a few examples: Star Wars: Battlefront II, Battlefield 1, mind a négy Mass Effect, Need For Speed: Payback, Unravel Two…). It looks like Sony might have given up. (As previously they did with cross-play as well.)
Of course, it’s not official at all, which is why we have that question mark in the title, too. It might be a hoax, and we might be having some… well, this term is used often nowadays, fake news. Let’s hope it’s not the case.
