Resident Evil 3 Remake: The Face Of Jill Valentine Revealed

Jill Valentine got a bit of facelift, as expected after twenty years.

It’s a trend that in Resident Evil remakes, Capcom is basing the protagonists’ faces on real actors. Resident Evil 2 Remake, which came out in January, and – as expected – already outsold the original, had Leon based on Eduard Badaluta’s, and Claire’s face on Jordan McEwen’s, respectively. One of the protagonists of Resident Evil 3 Remake (because Carlos is also a playable character after all…) had been confirmed by the actor herself.

ResetEra found the post from Instagram, where Sasha Zotova wrote the following: „Dear friends, I am happy to announce that I became the prototype of Jill Valentine in Resident Evil 3 Remake. It is such an honour for me to work with Capcom and to be the face model of a cult character and join the RE family. Thanks to Jill Valentine fans for your kindness and politeness.”

Later, she confirmed her work with another post, in which she thanked the support.

„In Resident Evil 3, S.T.A.R.S. member Jill Valentine, one of video games’ most iconic heroines, flees a city being consumed by zombies and other horrifying creatures. Built with Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine, Resident Evil 3 uses modernized gameplay to combine action with classic survival horror in vivid high-definition.

Jill’s harrowing experiences in Resident Evil 3 take place in the nightmarish hours leading up to and following the events in Resident Evil 2, shedding new light on the plight of Raccoon City’s residents. Every hope of escape is cut off by another star in the Resident Evil franchise: the towering Bio Organic Weapon Nemesis. This brutal yet intelligent monstrosity uses an arsenal of high-powered weaponry to indiscriminately eliminate any surviving S.T.A.R.S. members in the city–with Jill being his final target,” quoting a bit of Capcom’s announcement post.

Resident Evil 3 Remake (which was announced on the State of Play two weeks ago), as well as its 4v1 asymmetric multiplayer Resident Evil Resistance, will launch on April 3 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
