We’re going to hear a lot of new details from the Official PlayStation Magazine (shortened to OPM onwards) regarding games that are in development for PlayStation 5 (as well?).
The OPM has confirmed that their July issue is going to focus on the PlayStation 5 with the following teaser text: „It’s coming. The next-gen starts next issue as we reveal the latest games coming to PlayStation 5, and how they’ll play.” You can also see it in the following image below.
The July issue of the OPM will be available from June 2, but digitally, you can pick it up a few days earlier. That means in a month, we’re likely going to deep dive into the PlayStation 5 games (Godfall? Quantum Error? Other, unannounced PlayStation 5-exclusives?) in the news.
OPM is part of the Future network. The same goes for GamesRadar, who will hold a digital event called Future Game Show in June. Will they pull the PlayStation 5 in for this event? Or its games? (Also, we have yet to see if OPM is going to have exclusivity on the new information or other publications will also publish their new information at the same time.)
This date seems to fall in line what Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox said: he said that the next-gen games will be revealed soon, starting to build up the marketing of these titles for the second half of 2020, as both the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X are planned to launch this Holiday season.
However, Sony will then have to do something next month with the PlayStation 5. We’re sure that Microsoft is going to reveal a lot about the Xbox Series X and its games (they’d have been at E3 this year…), but the „blues” have been unexpectedly pushing out information, too – for example, they revealed the DualSense controller out of nowhere. (It was reported to be a rushed job on their end.) Therefore, showing the two consoles in May might be possible.
(However, the pricing might be announced at a later date, as the coronavirus could be causing a few things to linger in the air.)
