Call Of Duty: Black Ops CIA: Is It This Year’s Call Of Duty’s Name?

There is no year without Call of Duty. However, this year’s instalment hasn’t been announced yet.

This year is quite an unusual one. In May or June, Activision Blizzard always reveals the next game in the Call of Duty series. Now, we’re past the middle of July, and the game still hasn’t been announced yet, so we don’t know COD 2020’s name or historical setting yet. Or at least we don’t know it officially.

Here’s The Red Door, and here’s its official description: „There is more than one truth. If you go looking for answers, be ready to question everything and accept that nothing will ever be the same. The Red Door awaits, do you dare step through it?”

How is it even related to 2020’s Call of Duty game? Well, this 81.65 GB game (ouch, that is big, and games will be even bigger over the next few years – we wrote about this subject in the news today) is none other than the money-printing IP’s alpha! It was previously on the PlayStation Network (although called as COD2020 there), so it’s not random at all. You can only access it with a code to not have illegal leaks of the game.

The images below have been shared by TheGamingRevolution, a reliable Call of Duty insider, on Twitter, and the first image with the Xbox One dashboard says it all. Call of Duty: Black Ops CIA. The whole thing is covered up by The Red Door logo and icon. The third image has the CIA logo (Central Intelligence Agency) in the background, but nobody can get past it without legal access, so all we can see is the splash screen.

Call of Duty: Black Ops CIA is going to be a cross-gen game (which will either be announced on July 23 at the Xbox Games Showcase, or in a rumoured State of Play in August), so it’ll be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PC (Battle.net), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
