Atomic Heart Gets Next-Gen Versions, Too [VIDEO]

As expected, Atomic Heart is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, too.

Mundfish announced that aside from the previously announced PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (Steam) versions, Atomic Heart will also show up on the two next-gen consoles, the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X (as well as possibly the Xbox Series S). „Our game will have no loading screens due to [the] fast SSD. Next-gen hardware also provides an exclusive opportunity to fulfil our artistic vision and deliver our game with stunning visuals with no downgrading, which was essential for current-gen,” Mundfish told IGN. (We wouldn’t be surprised if they end up cancelling the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One ports…)

They also showcase a mini-boss called Plyush. It is „an organic enemy which might just be a product of some secret governmental deeds.” And the story doesn’t get a lot of new details, but according to the developers, „the game kicks off when robots start attacking people. P-3 will have to investigate what has caused all these events and deal with what (or who?) is behind all of this.” P-3 would be our character.

The coronavirus global pandemic has also affected Mundfish. However, they claim that Atomic Heart is in „active development.” They also announced that DOOM’s and DOOM Eternal’s composer, Mick Gordon is taking part in music production along with Mundfish’s in-house sound team. We have yet to see what he comes up with for this alternative Soviet Union-set game. (Everything looks more modern for a reason.)

Atomic Hearts is coming when it’s done on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, (Xbox Series S?), PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It seems to be heavily inspired by Prey. Not 2006’s Prey but the one made in 2017, developed by Arkane Studios.
