In return, People Can Fly‘s game is going to include cross-play and cross-platform.
Square Enix and People Can Fly announced in a press release that we already suspected via the Steam page of the game that likely has some connection to Marvel. Outriders is not launching this year! In return, the Japanese publisher confirmed that the PlayStation 4 > PlayStation 5, and the Xbox One > Xbox Series will be free. The cross-play and cross-platform support mean that the players can all play together, regardless if they play on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or even Google Stadia. No matter what platform you pick, you will not left behind in multiplayer (as the game is recommended to be played together with two friends in a three-player co-op).
„We’re very happy to announce that we can offer full cross-play support and a free next-gen upgrade plan for Outriders players. The great thing about this system is that even if you’re not picking up your PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X quite yet, we’ve got you covered and there’s no need to wait. If you buy the current-gen version of Outriders, we’ll give you the next-gen version for free,” said Square Enix External Studios co-head of studio Jon Brooke in a press release. „We’re taking a little bit longer to ensure players have the best possible experience with Outriders, we’re also including new features like cross-play which will make our game much more accessible on all platforms,” Square Enix External Studios co-head of studio Lee Singleton added.
The new release date of Outriders is thus February 2. It’s launching on this day on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The Google Stadia port is coming at a later, unconfirmed date.
