Call Of Duty Vanguard: Activision Has Solved The Storage Problem

Activision introduces new, more efficient texture streaming technology on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series. This innovation can cut the game‘s storage requirements by up to half.

Over the past few years, the general public has criticised Call of Duty games for taking up too much space on the hard drive. Activision has been aware of these complaints and has announced through official channels that it has significantly reduced the amount of storage space required to install the next instalment in the franchise, Call of Duty: Vanguard, on PC PS5 and Xbox X Series X|S.

“Good news for hard drives everywhere: the install size of Vanguard will be significantly smaller than seen in the previous Call of Duty releases,” the war action series’ Twitter profile announced. “We expect the new texture streaming technology to reduce the free space required on hard drives on PCs and next-generation consoles by 30%-50%”.

At this time, Activision has not officially shared the official installation requirements for Call of Duty: Vanguard on various compatible devices. We know the download size shared by Microsoft for the new COD on Xbox: 92.54 GB. For comparison, at the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, the game required 136 GB on Microsoft’s next-generation console.

Call of Duty: Vanguard will hit stores in a few days on 5 November for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox X|S Series and Xbox One.
