The Power On documentary project looks back at Microsoft’s first steps in the industry, the birth of Xbox, and consoles’ development.
Xbox is 20 years old, and Microsoft is now making a documentary film called Power On, which shows how the video game development division was born and is now hugely popular with the public. The company’s initiative has resulted in several consoles that have captivated thousands of gamers.
We’ve heard it all: rumours, corporate anecdotes of tense moments, risky moves and lost illusions. Yet many were surprised when Xbox, taking the opportunity of the Xbox Anniversary Celebration, announced Power On: The Story of Xbox, a six-part documentary that tells the story of Microsoft through games, from the birth of titles like Age of Empires to the creation of the Xbox series, which has been associated with significant releases like Forza Horizon 5 and Halo Infinite.
Gamers (and anyone curious about the world of video games) who want to learn more about the history of one of the most important companies in the industry can do so from 13 December on YouTube IMDb TV, Roku, Redbox and other video platforms. In addition, Xbox FanFest members can get a behind-the-scenes look at the documentary days before its release.
