MOVIE NEWS – In the trailer for The Book of Boba Fett, a new leader takes power in the Tatooine underworld…
Disney+ yesterday released the character posters for Boba Fett and Fennec Shand and unveiled an exciting TV spot for Lucasfilm’s new live-action series, The Book of Boba Fett.
“I am Boba Fett. Left for dead on the sands of Tatooine. Jabba Ruled with fear. I intend to rule with respect.”
The official synopsis for The Book of Boba Fett reads, “a thrilling Star Wars adventure teased in a surprise end-credit sequence following the Season 2 finale of The Mandalorian, finds legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate.”
Mandalorian creators Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni and Robert Rodriguez, will direct the episodes, alongside Bryce Dallas Howard. Executive producer and director Jon Favreau gave us a glimpse into the story. “There is a power vacuum, because Jabba is gone. Jabba was clearly a very strong and imposing leader, who people were very scared of, and who seemed to rule with an iron fist. You pull somebody like that out of the ecosystem of Tatooine – and Hutt Space in general – and you have the opportunity that’s ripe in the gangster genre. Although Boba Fett is a very experienced bounty hunter, he’s not experienced at running a criminal syndicate or managing forces. He’s not normally a newcomer. He’s an expert as we see him in most areas. But in this case, he’s trying to transition to another position.”
Co-executive producer and director Robert Rodriguez added:
“We’ll see a lot more of his true character in this season. And you’ll definitely see him have to turn ‘barbarian mode’”
The Book of Boba Fett stars Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen. Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Robert Rodriguez, Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson are executive producers. Karen Gilchrist and Carrie Beck are co-producing, John Bartnicki is producing, and John Hampian is co-producing.
The Book of Boba Fett will air one new episode per week for seven weeks starting December 29, exclusively on A Disney+ streaming channel.
