Samsung Gaming Hub is committed to video game streaming alongside NVIDIA, Stadia and Utomik
During CES 2022, held in Las Vegas, Samsung has announced new developments related to the world of video games. The South Korean company announced a few months ago that it was working on something related to gaming in the cloud, and that is what has been confirmed this 2 January, revealing new details in this regard and being much more specific.
We’re talking about Samsung Gaming Hub, a platform aimed at allowing users to enjoy a library of video games played via streaming in an experience that they assure will be complete and fluid. The brand has partnered with leading game streaming services NVIDIA’s GeForce Now, Google Stadia and Utomik, with more to come in the future.
“We know that our customers’ love of gaming continues to grow, and we’ve bridged the gap between our leadership in Smart TVs and advanced gaming software to create a platform to play all of our favourite games quickly and easily,” said Won-Jin Lee, corporate president of Samsung Electronics.
It will allow users to quickly access these services’ extensive library of games on select Samsung Smart TV models in 2022, which aim to take full advantage of Tizen-powered hardware. It will be accessible from the main navigation menu in the Gaming, Audiovisual and Lifestyle categories, making it easier to search and purchase titles.
Samsung Gaming Hub will be available during the third quarter of this year, so we’ll have to wait to see how a platform that aims to bring the console experience to the TV without managing downloads or disc storage works. They promise that it will be easy to pair a controller to play, although, with Stadia, we already saw that we could use a smartphone as a controller if we don’t have access to one.
