Cyberpunk 2077 Plans Include New Mechanics, Physics And AI Improvements

The job offers for Cyberpunk 2077 are looking for developers with these profiles

We are still in the early days of 2022, but it seems that Cyberpunk 2077 wants to be in the news from the beginning of the year. Without going any further, this week CD Projekt had to come out from CD Projekt to deny a report that spoke of a possible relaunch this year where they also commented on a multitude of additions and improvements that would come to the title so that, on a general level, the perception of it would be much more positive.

Although the company has denied this so-called Samurai Edition, it seems that the improvements listed are not misguided, since if we pay attention to the series of job offers that have recently been published on their official website, we see that they are looking for several profiles that anticipate the intentions they have with the next updates and for the next generation version, scheduled for this year.

There are more than a dozen just for Cyberpunk (plus others for unannounced projects), but, for example, we see that they are looking for a physics and AI behaviour designer, which anticipates future implementations related to things like the behaviour of vehicles or the artificial intelligence of PCNs. These kinds of things and the interaction with the scenery have been criticised a lot since launch.

Similarly, another job opportunity is looking for a destructible element artist, which would indicate greater destructibility and general improvements to environments and models, something that would be enhanced by the PS5 and Xbox X Series versions. In addition, they require a profile for a senior animator, with the job description specifying that there will be new gameplay mechanics, although it obviously doesn’t specify what kind of things we might see.

More vacancies are available, such as those addressing general gameplay, level design, mission design and cinematic treatment. All of these could indicate new narrative, or at least story-driven, content, though it’s too early to say. We’ll have to wait and see if all these things are implemented and others that we already know will be implemented, such as the presence of multiplayer functionalities that we know will come to both Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher saga.
