Sony (after announcing that PlayStation Plus will be a tiered subscription model) has revealed what the free games would be in April.
We won’t detail what the three subscription categories cover, as we’ve already explained here what the service, previously codenamed Spartacus, covers by category. Instead, let’s talk about the free games for April, leaked by billbil-kun on Dealabs, a French website. Once again, the user has detailed what they believe the PlayStation Plus subscribers will get.
As they’ve been on the money regarding leaks for months (with a few omissions here and there), let’s examine what these games are. According to the leaker, Hood: Outlaws & Legends will be available for both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 (a medieval PvPvE game), and the PlayStation 4 will get Slay the Spire (a card game with roguelike elements) and Spongebob Squarepants: Battle For Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated, a remake of a PS2-era platformer. Are these the games coming to subscribers in April, or did Sony, for once, somehow, finally get the chance to make a last-minute change to its list?
The answer is, once again, yes. Hood: Outlaws & Legends (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4), Slay The Spire (PlayStation 4), and Spongebob Squarepants: Battle For Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated (PlayStation 4). Also, on May 11, Persona 5 will leave the PlayStation Plus Collection. So games can leave the list after all!?
But until then, there are still a few days to catch up on PlayStation Plus games for March. In addition to ARK: Survival Evolved (PlayStation 4), Team Sonic Racing (PlayStation 4) and Ghostrunner (PlayStation 5), Ghost of Tsushima: Legends (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4) is also available as an extra until Monday, so you can download them if you missed them.
It’s worth pointing out that PlayStation Plus will offer two free games from June. Three, for now, is something of a plus… but there used to be six when the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Vita were also on the menu.
