Saints Row Reboot Looks Pretty Good: Images Have Been Leaked!

After seeing them, it makes perfect sense why Volition pushed back the release date of Saints Row Reboot by half a year…

ArtStation. This site, owned by Epic Games, is also used by many in the games industry, as the name suggests that it is a good place to showcase your art style in a portfolio, which can then be used when applying for jobs. Tim Wasson, Volition’s senior environmental artist, quietly uploaded a few images from Saints Row Reboot but deleted them in vain because the internet hasn’t forgotten this time either: everything is now nicely archived on Reddit. They show a desert landscape in a fictional region of the southwestern United States, with some pretty sharp detail and some pretty decent lighting. There’s a good chance the images aren’t from the PlayStation 4/Xbox One versions…

The game was postponed last November, and we wrote about it then, quoting the studio’s message: “The team just need more time to do our vision justice; we’re doing some fine-tuning, and there won’t be much change in the game outside of overall quality and polish. We underestimated the impact COVID would have on our schedule, although everyone adapted very quickly to the working-from-home arrangement and continued to be incredibly productive. However, due to the size and scope of our new Saints Row, it’s become apparent that to create the best game possible, we need to give our team longer to perfect their craft.

As mentioned when we announced Saints Row in August, this will be the biggest and best Saints Row game ever, and, to achieve our goal, we’ve settled upon a generous yet essential amount of time to realize our ambitions. There will not be any changes to the story or the characters or anything that we’ve lovingly imagined over the last few years and already shared with you. Over the past two years, all corners of the entertainment industry have been affected/impacted in one way or another. As gamers ourselves, we know what it feels like to have something delayed, which you’ve been looking forward to; it’s frustrating, and you feel disappointed. But we also know that when we finally get Saints Row in your hands, it will have been worth the wait. It’s our absolute priority to get this right.”

The Saints Row reboot will launch on August 23 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC (Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
