We haven’t seen Hajdu Steve like this before

MOVIE NEWS – Reality hit Steve Hajdu in a parking lot.

Steve Hajdu, who previously starred in hit comedies such as The Hungarian Wanderer or Liza the Fox Fairy, is returning to the big screen. It can be seen in cinemas from November 3 Simple Guy is particularly close to his heart, thanks to the fact that it is based on the play A parking lot also made it a success with his starring role in 2018. In the twisted comedy, Tímea Szőlőskei, who plays his wife, portrays a rich businessman as his partner, whose luxury car full of extras unexpectedly breaks down on the highway. He cannot fix the car, so he is forced to call for help. While waiting for the mechanics in the parking lot next to the highway, fate brings him together with people with whom he had not even had a running relationship until then. Now, however, he can spend more or less time with many people, from gypsy musicians, to impoverished intellectuals, to policemen who are less receptive to police jokes, and he is faced with the fact that sometimes those who really have nothing can give more.

“Already the play cleverly and with enough humor showed how much we don’t know each other, the wider world around us. At the same time, he also talks from a positive point of view about how many experiences and interesting relationships we could gain if we stuck our heads out of our own world and left our comfort zone. In the film, we were able to better visually develop the great realizations, sayings and encounters of the main character living in a shell, which made the instructive story even more entertaining.” – said Steve Hajdu, who was able to work with colleagues on this comedy filmed in the summer of 2019, such as Péter Kálloy Molnár, Kati Zsurzs, Gábor Harsányi or Iván Dengyel.

Simple Guy was directed by Attila Magyar, who has a long history in the light genre both on stage and on TV, and the screenplay of the film was written by András Bartha based on his own play.
