According to a senior artist’s profile, Kojima Productions’ next game will not be released until 2023.

PCGameAbout has written about some possible release dates for PlayStation games. The ArtStation profile of one of PlayStation Studios Visual Arts’ senior artists has some suspicious information (and if it suddenly disappears, as it tends to do, you can say the leak was correct). Frank Alberti’s ArtStation profile says that Death Stranding 2 and an as-yet-unannounced FPS are due for release sometime in 2024.

According to the site, this unknown FPS is being developed at Firewalk Studios. This team signed a deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment in 2021 to release its first AAA multiplayer game. Interestingly, it is currently the only FPS project Sony has been tied to. Kojima has previously said Death Stranding 2 will be more than just a generic sequel, as it could add more robust features for Sam “Porter” Bridges due to technological advancements. And the release window of 2024 means that the sequel would come five years after the first installment (as Death Stranding came out for PlayStation 4 in 2019).

Death Stranding 2 for PlayStation 5 was announced at The Game Awards. Like the first part, the sequel will use Guerrilla Games’ technology so that this game will use the Decima Engine. It’s almost certain that there will be a PC version. This time, 505 Games will likely have nothing to do with it (as the PC version of Death Stranding came out when Sony was still very close-minded about getting its exclusives out on Steam and the Epic Games Store), so following Sony’s line of thinking (at least a year on console), we can expect a port in 2025 at the earliest.

Meanwhile, a movie adaptation of Death Stranding is in the works. For this, Kojima has chosen Hammerstone Productions and Alex Lebovici. It has also been promised as unusual. We’ll see.
