PlayStation Plus subscribers lose one of the best PS2 games. What’s more, there were problems with the February arrivals.
There’s a reason why the PS2 is the best-selling console of all time, and it’s because PS2 is probably the best console of all time. Of course, that’s a subjective statement, but there’s no denying that it had a lot of great games. Including some great titles that were made exclusively for it. Of these, not many games have been better than GTA Vice City, which received a 95 rating on Metacritic. This ties it to the fifth-highest rating on the PlayStation platform. And the game needs no introduction. If you’re unfamiliar with GTA Vice City, you’re living under a rock and don’t have internet access, so you can’t even read this article.
The game was available to play via PlayStation Plus Extra and PlayStation Plus Premium for a few months, but that’s about to change.
On February 21, the classic Grand Theft Auto game will leave the subscription service. And it’s not the only one: The Turing Test, Rad Rodgers, Sine Mora EX, Agatha Christie – The ABC Murders, Sine Mora EX, Pure Farming 2018, SkyDrift Infinity, Sparkle Unleashed, and The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 are also leaving.
As you know, the version of the game currently available through PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium is not the original PS2 version but the controversial The Definitive Edition, an “enhanced” version of the game that will debut in 2021. We put it in quotes because there is a question as to whether it is enhanced or not. It suggests an improvement over the original version, but the updated version of the GTA trilogy is, as we all know, riddled with problems.
Should we expect more PlayStation Plus games in February?!
PlayStation Plus subscribers are counting down to the unveiling of the next wave of free PS4 and PS5 games in February 2023.
It looks like subscribers will have a longer wait for free PS4 and PS5 games in February 2023.
Due to reconciliation issues, free PS Plus games won’t be revealed until February 1 at 16:30 GMT. The next batch of PlayStation Plus games will be available to download less than a week later on the morning of February 7. Of course, the delayed release does have its benefits, as it gives you more time to get your hands on the free games in January.
Let’s hope that February’s games will be at least as good as January’s offering. That may compensate subscribers for the delay to some extent.
