The Tales franchise is celebrating its twentieth birthday this year, which is celebrated by two announcements. Bandai Namco announced an anime in progress, as well as a new game in the series with the same name (Tales of Berseria) for both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. We wouldn’t be surprised, if only the PS4 version will receive localization.
Bandai Namco also trademarked two other names in April – Tales of Orfellia and Tales of Alestia -, but no news about these yet. There’s going to be a lone female protagonist – named Velvet – in Berseria, which hasn’t happened before. Visuals will likely be alright, as the character designer will be Mutsumi Inomata, a veteran in the anime industry. Cutscenes will be made by Ufotable, the same team responsible for the Xillia and Zesteria cutscenes. No info on the release date yet.
