The Pentagon launched an investigation after it was revealed that confidential documents detailing the US and NATO’s strategy to support Ukraine in case of a Russian invasion first appeared on an online gaming community forum.

Minecraft is a popular video game where players can create various structures in the virtual world. But some of them not only showed their creativity, but also their spying skills, as they obtained and shared secret war plans on a Minecraft Discord server.

The documents show the plan of the US, NATO and the Ukrainian army in case of a Russian attack on Ukraine. The papers include maps, weapons and casualty estimates. The leak caused a big scandal, as it jeopardizes the security and diplomatic relations of the western allies.

The Pentagon launched an investigation into the matter and tried to remove the documents from the internet. However, this was not an easy task, as the files quickly spread to other platforms such as 4chan, Telegram or Twitter. The identity of the leakers has not been determined yet.

The leak on the Minecraft Discord server is not the first case of secret military information being made public on video game forums. Previously, a similar incident occurred in the online combat simulator game War Thunder, where players shared confidential data on various military equipment.
