The relationship between the CEO of Twitter (or should we say X Corp.?), Tesla, SpaceX, and Microsoft has soured, and the Xboxers who might want to share their videos on Twitter are the ones who are suffering.

Elon Musk has had a turbulent last few days. Tesla’s first-quarter results were below expectations, SpaceX’s rocket exploded (admittedly, supposedly on purpose), and now he’s got a beef with Microsoft. Musk is now threatening a lawsuit against the US tech giant, and it’s already hitting Xbox Series and Xbox One gamers who might want to share their recorded videos on Twitter…

The problem is that Twitter charges money for using its API (application programming interface), which wasn’t the case before Musk. The developers use the API to integrate Twitter into their apps easily. And Microsoft, despite having plenty of money to pay for it (after all, they rarely have financial problems with Windows and Office…), refuses to pay for it and has announced that from next week the Digital Marketing Center platform will no longer support the social platform. Musk reacted rather strangely (but in typical Musk fashion…) by writing that Microsoft was training its AI illegally using Twitter’s data. For this reason, he is considering suing Microsoft…

After his threat, Xbox announced that gamers would no longer be able to post gameplay footage from their Xbox or PC Game Bar directly to Twitter. You may not even be able to do this from mobile anymore. According to Microsoft, you can still share your favorite moments on Twitter via the Android and iOS apps. But whatever happens, it’s not out of the question that Microsoft might start removing Twitter from its supported platforms, as an Xbox firmware update will be essential, and that will cut support entirely out of the picture until Microsoft pays Twitter.
