The game, which has been in development hell for some time, has come to life out of nowhere, but unfortunately, we don’t have that much new information, and there’s a slightly contradictory part in the announcement from publisher Paradox Interactive…
Let’s see Paradox’s announcement, which can be found on their website: “We acknowledge it was a long time ago that many of you pre-ordered Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. As development continues, we will be updating the game’s editions and bonus content, and we want to provide the best value to those of you who supported us via digital pre-order after all this time.
Thus, we offer refunds to anyone who has pre-ordered any edition of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. As part of this process, we are proactively refunding all pre-orders of physical products, including the Collector’s Edition. The digital versions of the First Blood Edition, Unsanctioned Edition, and Blood Moon Edition remain but can be refunded. We’re excited to show you more and hope to have all of you with us in September when we reveal more. We know you are eager to see how the game is progressing, so we’ve compiled a fresh batch of screenshots to share with you,” Paradox wrote.
So the publisher has managed to get the game’s development straight, but we shouldn’t expect it to be released soon. It’s best to give up on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions, as both consoles will be ten years old this year, and after that time, developing a significant game like this for a previous generation of hardware is rare (maybe in Japan for the previous generation PlayStation, but that’s not where it’s being developed…). The cancellation of pre-orders is strange, though, because it means we’ll have to wait for the sequel to Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines, which is not something you do.
Then we’ll hear more about Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 in September, and in the meantime, here are some new images Paradox has shared…
