Fresh leaks may hint at the protagonist of The Last of Us Part 3 and story details of the rumored new game.

Rumors circulating on the Internet may provide the first details of The Last of Us Part 3. Part 3 of The Last of Us has not been officially announced yet, but considering the huge success of the first two games in the series and the successful HBO adaptation, many assumed that the third game in Naughty Dog’s post-apocalyptic survival horror series was on the way.

Officially, Naughty Dog’s next game will be a Last of Us multiplayer title, not a true Last of Us third installment. Not much has been shown of Naughty Dog’s Last of Us multiplayer game, but it is expected to be a live-action title set in San Francisco. Naughty Dog’s follow-up to the Last of Us multiplayer project was rumored to be an original IP, but it looks like there’s a good chance it’ll be The Last of Us Part 3 instead.

ViewerAnon, who accurately leaked the news in the past, has doubled down on his claim that Neil Druckmann’s next game will indeed be The Last of Us 3, now going so far as to claim that the game will be “large-scale shooting” later this year. They also said that Last of Us protagonist Ellie is “at least as important” in the third game as she was in the second. This means that fans can expect The Last of Us 3 to feature Ellie as the main character, although that leaves the door open for a second main character to fill out a decent chunk of screen time, ala Abby from The From Last of Us Part 2. ViewerAnon also emphasized that since the game is still in such an early stage of development, story details are still “being refined” and “potentially everything is up in the air to change,” so fans should keep that in mind.

ViewerAnon isn’t the only person leaking information about The Last of Us 3. Daniel Richtman has also reportedly leaked fresh details about the game, though fans should take these leaks with a grain of salt. According to Richtman, as reported by Eurogamer, The Last of Us 3 will feature a “Victorian house” where some survivors live together. Specific characters mentioned in the specific report include newcomers named Lucas, Mason, Ezra, Val, and Gracis. Val appears to be the leader of the group, which puts him in conflict with Ezra, who wants to take over.

Unfortunately, Last of Us fans will likely have to wait years to find out if the latest claims about the game are true. Naughty Dog is working on a single-player game, and if it’s The Last of Us 3 as rumored, more information should be revealed in a few years or so.
