Saw X: You Won’t Believe Why The Police Were Called On One Of The Creators!

MOVIE NEWS – Kevin Greutert, the director of Saw X, told the unfortunate but funny story.

One of the editors of Saw X, the latest instalment in the bloody horror franchise, recently had a run-in with the Los Angeles Police Department. He was working too loudly, director Kevin Greutert revealed.

According to Greutert, first assistant editor Steve Forn was finishing up the sound design for a particularly gruesome scene in the new film at his office in North Hollywood, Los Angeles.

The scene in question involves an “eye vacuum trap” from which the character must escape. Otherwise, he risks losing his sight. There is a lot of screaming in the scene, along with some eerie sound effects.

“There was a knock at the door,” explained Greutert, “We have the doorbell [camera] video of the police walking up, [Forn answering the door] and the police saying, ‘The neighbours [have been] calling and saying someone’s being tortured to death in here.'”

“And he was like, ‘Actually, I’m just working on a movie… You can come in and see it if you want?’ The cops started laughing! They said, ‘We want to but, you know, you’re all right.'” It must have been a pretty realistic performance!”

Greutert, who directed three Saw films and edited seven, including the original, added: “It’s a pretty funny story… Plus Steve is such a mild mannered guy. I can only imagine the look on his face when he realised what was happening!”

Saw X, the tenth film in the series. It arrived in cinemas on 29 September and has so far received pretty good reviews (ours is expected later today.) The film takes place shortly after the original 2004 film but before the later sequels. It follows the journey of classic villain John Kramer, aka Jigsaw, who travels to Mexico for a medical procedure. He hopes it will cure him of cancer. Unfortunately, he discovers that the whole operation is a scam designed to trick the most vulnerable – and decides to seek revenge.

According to the Rotten Tomatoes review site, the film received the franchise’s first positive overall score.
