A Hungarian illustrator’s drawing was shared by one of the biggest Marvel sites

CINEMA NEWSAliz Buzás’s Loki poster was selected as one of the works of the “EMEA Artist poster series”.

Disney has always been at the forefront of creating productions with special and magical visuals. One of the best examples of this is the completely unique, timeless visuals of the Loki series, combining the past and the future. On the occasion of the premiere of the second season of the series, MARVEL’s official English Instagram page was looking for talented Central and Eastern European graphic designers and illustrators for the “EMEA Artist poster series” program, who would draw the poster of the series in their favorite style and Loki as they see it. Aliz Buzás was included in this exceptional circle, whose Art Deco-style work he created for the second season of the Loki series, which is now available on Disney+ the site yesterday also shared.

On the occasion of the premiere of the second season of the Loki series, nearly ten graphics reminiscent of cinema posters are constantly being posted on the official Instagram page of Marvel uk. From the Dadaist style to works reminiscent of Renaissance paintings to psychedelic works from the 70s, they were created by artists living in Central and Eastern Europe as part of the “EMEA Artist poster series” competition. An Art Deco illustration by Aliz Buzás was uploaded yesterday alongside their works. The young Hungarian artist wanted to show Loki’s hopeless and depressing situation, as well as how tormenting floating in nothingness and the feeling of confinement can be.

“At the beginning of the creative process, I thought about several styles, but in the end I decided on Art Deco. Not only because I find it very elegant and attractive, but I could easily identify with it. I was inspired by the posters of the time, which is why one of the main characters of the poster is actually not Loki, but Percike, whose orange color had a great impact on the final concept and, last but not least, it also fit well with the style,” said Aliz, who did not alien Loki and neither is the world of comics.

“I have quite a lot of connections with the world of comics, for example, when I was still in high school, we often sat in on the History of Comics class at the University of Szeged, because I was very interested in the topic. What’s more, an ex-partner of mine was obsessed with collecting comic books, he also went to festivals and I always accompanied him,” said the illustrator, who sees drawing as a safe place where he is in control. From an early age, he has felt that being able to create is a complete rest for the brain from the rush of everyday life.

“I am very happy that my work was also selected and added to the page among the other artists’ drawings. I am proud of my work because I loved this project and the creation process was easy. My husband and my friends also liked my drawing and this is a great recognition, because among them there is also a huge Loki fan,” Aliz added proudly.

Loki is one of the most lovable villains in the MARVEL comic and movie universe. The god of pranks is charismatic, humorous, stylish, strong, yet unpredictable, fragile and has great skills. The fans have already sympathized with him and during the two seasons of the Disney+ Loki series, they only liked him even more. Not only the excellent and complex character, but also the performances of Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson and Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan played a big role in this. All episodes of the two seasons of the series are now available on the streaming service.
