Microsoft has quite a steep battle in Japan, as their rivals, namely Sony and Nintendo, are both enjoying being favoured by the local market. It’s no wonder that the home-made consoles are sold way more than Redmond’s machine. The Xbox One has even less interest than the previous two generations, making the situation even more difficult.
Despite all of that, the new Microsoft Japan CEO (Takuya Hirano) has said that the console is staying on the market despite the terrible sales. He also added that they are waiting for Windows 10 to release, as that will have a connection with the Xbox One. This is a very optimistic comment, because if your console has sold over 100 times less than Sony’s PS4 last week (100 against 11000…), you will need way more than that to get some of the lost ground back. There should be more domestic Xbox One-exclusive games developed – MS is on a good route with Platinum Games’ Scalebound, but that game is seemingly a bit far from being complete yet.
