Grand Theft Auto VI: There’s A Good Chance Of A Delay!

And this is not coming from a person with inside information working in the press (e.g. Jeff Grubb or Tom Henderson)!

The analysts at Bank of America believe that Grand Theft Auto VI will not be released when we expect it to be, given Rockstar’s approach so far. They have been following the studio’s previous games and the launch windows mentioned in their reveal trailers, and based on this they think that a 2025 release is not so certain: there were few elements in the video that would have convinced them that the new Grand Theft Auto is indeed already in alpha testing, and no mention of a PC port (but that’s Square Enix and Take-Two’s habit of delaying the release of many of their games…).

Omar Dessouky and Artur Chu, two analysts at Bank of America, found the video showing Grand Theft Auto VI exciting, but that doesn’t automatically mean it’s at an advanced stage in the testing process, with Rockstar and Take-Two theoretically releasing it for PlayStation 5 and Xbox series in the first quarter of 2025, between January and March, although there are rumors of a 2024 release. The publisher expects new record operating profits next year and beyond, and here we have to think about the fiscal year that starts on April 1…

“In closing, we are confident that the actions our teams are taking this year are preparing us for a strong growth trajectory. Through our collective efforts, we continue to believe that we are positioning our business for a significant inflection point in fiscal 2025 that will culminate in new record levels of operating performance next year and beyond. We thank all of our stakeholders for their continued support and look forward to this exciting next chapter,” Take-Two’s CFO said in August.

So not everyone is sure that we’ll have Grand Theft Auto number six in just over a year, but the publisher will prove us wrong. Just don’t rush the release.
