How Ryan Gosling Became a Cool Action Superhero [VIDEO]

MOZI NEWS – Ryan Gosling likes to explore all genres, and next time he’ll not only bring his much-admired romantic and dramatic side to the battlefield, but also play an action hero.

In The Fall Guy, he plays a death-defying stunt double for the big stars, who goes to the fair for them in dangerous scenes. But he is forced to turn from a perennial extra into a protagonist when he finds himself in the middle of a real-life crime spree during a film shoot. Based on the trailer, it looks like The Stuntman will usher in a new era in action movies, which is no wonder, given that it is directed by ex-stuntman David Leitch, who made his name with the John Wick films. Leitch has had no difficulty in working with Gosling, who has a strong history in action films.

Gosling’s introduction to the world of high-speed bumps and bone-crushing car crashes came courtesy of Danish filmmaker Nicolas Vinding Refn: their Oscar-nominated Drive and 79 other award-winning films together make for a memorable experience. The psychological drama in an action film was followed by another joint flight: in the revenge flick Only God Can Forgive, Gosling decimated the Bangkok underworld in alternating methods, illuminated by crimson and purple neon, earning the film the paradoxical but apt description of “colour noir”.

After such daring and desperate exercises, Gosling now knows how to go out of the window in style as a lead stuntman and hit someone over the head with an understanding smile.
