TECH NEWS – It’s easier to create drafts that might as well be in your head.

Writing emails isn’t everyone’s forte. Artificial intelligence coming soon to Gmail could help. It may not seem important, but some people want to make sure they’re sending the right kind of email. It’s good to have a mental picture of what you want to say, and an outline can be helpful. This is where Google’s email service can be a great help: TheSpAndroid has discovered a feature that is not yet publicly available in the Android version of the app.

The feature is essentially based on a speech-to-text (STT) solution. We dictate the commands and Gmail compiles them into a draft. Is it a nice feature? For the lazy it certainly is, and judging by the image below, the idea isn’t bad either. The technology is already lurking in the app, but some flags need to be changed to turn on the Draft Email with Voice feature, which also uses artificial intelligence to help our thoughts eventually come together into a coherent email so we don’t have to worry about getting something wrong.

It’s not known when Google will publicly launch Draft Email with Voice on Android devices, but this innovation is proof that Google is planning for the long term with AI (another example is that we’ve already seen Google Assistant combined with Bard; the chatbot will eventually make its way to all services, according to the tech company). AI is also becoming more prevalent in smartphones, as shown by the Samsung Galaxy S24, which currently uses the Android-based One UI (the question is whether AI-based features will actually be paid for in the future; we wrote about this recently!)

And for those who don’t want to go that route, you can still comfortably (?) type your own sentences. There’s nothing wrong with that, after all, it’s been the only solution so far (unless you’re dictating to your secretary).
