Palworld: is the Developer of the Best-Selling Hit Game Being Acquired?!

Pocketpair’s game, Palworld, was an explosive hit on PC and Xbox Game Pass, so it’s no wonder that on the one hand, Nintendo turned their noses at the studio because of its similarity to Pokémon, and on the other hand, it’s a legitimate question , whether it can also appear on other platforms?

Mizobe Takuro, creator of Palworld and CEO of Pocketpair, gave an interview to Bloomberg. In it, he admitted that he would also like to release Palworld on new platforms, which some have mocked as “Pokémon with weapons”. So, in addition to Steam and Xbox Game Pass, you would also like to see it on PlayStation 5, for example. We dare not describe the Nintendo Switch, because the big N would prefer to stop the game. Pocketpair is also open to establishing a partnership with one of the larger companies, but would not shy away from a takeover.

Microsoft could be a good owner, but Mizobe confirmed that there is no discussion about this with the people of Redmond. He sees that Pocketpair would be better off staying a small studio that wouldn’t work on some big project, but instead create a lot of smaller games, because big-budget AAA titles aren’t for them. He does not believe in repeating Palworld’s success either, i.e. if the team made another smaller game, according to Mizobe, it would not be successful. And it’s hard to argue with the fact that games are the most fun when played with friends. According to Mizobe, a game without a multiplayer mode doesn’t look good these days.

On Palworld’s official Twitter, you can see that the game will soon receive its first raid, which is a magical evil force that wants to destroy the Palpagos Islands. So Pocketpair would like to thank ten million players (in fact, there are even more if we add the number of Game Pass players in addition to Steam sales).

If Palworld really reaches another platform, on which one will it be available first: PlayStation 5 or Nintendo Switch (possibly its successor)?
