Knives Out 3: After The Star Of Sherlock And Ripley, More Big Names To Join The Cast?!

MOVIE NEWS – Andrew Scott, perhaps best known as Sherlock’s Moriarty, joins Josh O’Connor and Cailee Spaeny as the latest addition to the popular crime series, Knives Out 3.

Andrew Scott is the latest star to join the cast of Knives Out 3 (Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, as the official title goes). This will be the third instalment in Rian Johnson’s franchise.

According to Variety, Scott will join the production alongside Cailee Spaeny (Priscilla, Civil War) and Josh O’Connor (Challengers). Johnson shared a short teaser on his social media accounts last week announcing the title, release date and the return of Daniel Craig as Benoit Blanc.

“I love everything about whodunnits, but one of the things I love now is how malleable the genre is,” Johnson tweeted before announcing the title and teaser.

“There’s a whole tonal spectrum from Carr to Christie, and getting to explore that range is one of the most exciting things about making Benoit Blanc movies.”

Knives Out grossed $312 million on a budget of just $40 million. It was followed by the 2022 sequel Glass Onion. The latter had a limited run in theatres before making its way to Netflix.

He starred alongside Scott Craig in Spectre, the penultimate James Bond film.

The actor is perhaps best known for playing the sly villain Moriarty in Sherlock (which inspired Billie Eilish’s song “You Should See Me in a Crown”) and playing the “Hot Priest” in Season 2 of Fleabag.

Most recently, he starred in the critically acclaimed romantic fantasy All of Us Strangers alongside Paul Mescal. He also played the title character in the recent Patricia Highsmith adaptation, the Ripley miniseries.

SOROZATKRITIKA – A Netflix Ripley című sorozatában a látványos fekete-fehér kompozíciók és a mélyreható karakterábrázolás ígérete sajnos gyorsan szertefoszlik, ahogy belemerülünk a történet lassan csordogáló folyamába. Tőrbe ejtve 3

Who else could be in Knives Out 3?

What’s on Netflix published a report with more insider information. This may reveal who else can join the cast of Knives Out 3. According to the report, Mad Max: Fury Road star and Oscar nominee Tom Hardy, as well as Lindsay Lohan, known for Mean Girls and many other films, are also in talks for a possible role.

Knives Out 3 is certainly off to a good start with Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, and Josh O’Connor joining, but this second rumoured pair of names could also throw a lot at the film.

Tom Hardy and Lindsay Lohan are reportedly in court. Granted, What’s on Netflix also claims that said talks have “fallen through.” However, it’s still very possible to see these Hollywood stars in front of Benoit Blanc’s accusing eyes.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery hits theaters and Netflix in 2025.
