[UFC 2024] The Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time Remake Is Coming, But It’s Too Early To Rejoice! [VIDEO]

Development of the ill-fated Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake was restarted a while ago, and now Ubisoft Montreal is responsible for it.

Its announcement was a huge success, but the graphics caused profound rejection among fans. All of this prompted Ubisoft to delay and later restart the development of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake, a new version of one of the most influential video games of recent times. However, news about the project only came in trickles. Moreover, it is almost always related to additional delays.

Yesterday, we heard about it again in connection with Ubisoft Forward 2024, which is excellent news, but it also means we’ll have to wait a few more years to enjoy the remake.

Ubisoft has confirmed that the game will arrive in 2026. They did all of this without going into more detail about the game or showing what it currently looks like. All we got was a short teaser showing the passage of time in reverse in the city where The Sands of Time takes place, from a room with a small candle on a table. The scene ended with the candle being fully lit. (See at the end of the article!)

The development of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake is quite problematic

The remake of The Sands of Time, which was officially launched six years ago, was launched by Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai. However, after the poor reception of the game and several problems during its development, the French company decided to pass the baton to Ubisoft Montreal.

Recently, it was revealed that the creators of the Splinter Cell remake are also collaborating on Prince of Persia, so the developers have moved every stone to make this game worthy of the legend of the original title.

“In 2026, players can reconnect with their beloved prince in a completely rebuilt adventure that captures the magic of the original game,” says Ubisoft. “The title has already successfully passed the pre-production phase and now production will begin with the cooperation of Ubisoft. Toronto, Ubisoft Bucharest and E-Studio, which join forces with Ubisoft Montreal,” adds the French company.

Ubisoft has not yet shared any further details. But we could hear about the other games in the series. For example, about the awesome Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, which is getting new free content. What’s more, you will soon receive the first story DLC. As well as The Rogue Prince of Persia, which also expands the gameplay with more challenges and content.
