The Occultist: A Paranormal Investigator’s Eerie Occult Adventure! [VIDEO]

A new video from Daloar and Daedalic Entertainment (this time only as publishers: they pulled out of development after the huge failure of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum) has arrived, and it’s starting to win us over.

In The Occultist, paranormal investigator Alan Rebels travels to the mysterious island of GodStone to determine the cause of his father’s sudden disappearance. Though he has mentioned the island repeatedly over the decades, all Alan really knows is that his father was born there and spent his early years there. But Alan does not travel alone. He carries with him his mystical pendulum, an object of unknown origin that has accompanied him on all of his past paranormal investigations. As he explores the foggy streets and crazy buildings that seem to be the only things left on the mysterious island of GodStone, it becomes clear that this is going to be a case unlike any other.

Until 1950, GodStone was inhabited by a notorious, macabre cult that conducted disturbing experiments and gruesome rituals. No one has set foot on the island since – until now. Using his paranormal talents, Alan must interact with the ominous souls that seem to linger in the foreboding streets and buildings that remain on GodStone, or avoid them at all costs if they are angry. As a paranormal investigator, none of this is new to Alan Rebels. However, the mysterious GodStone and his search for answers to his father’s disappearance put Alan’s skills to the test. More than any investigation before, GodStone shakes Alan’s beliefs about what is possible in the world of the occult. Perhaps GodStone holds a curse that can be lifted… but should it be?

The Mystic Pendulum is the most important object for Alan. It allows him to interact with and modify the environment through five unique and original mechanics. The Occultist has all the hallmarks of the genre, with suspenseful exploration and atmosphere, as well as an up-close and personal narrative. The Occultist has an amazing level and quality of graphics – for a truly immersive horror experience. Alan always avoids direct combat. Using stealth mechanics, he must progress through the story without being caught off guard. GodStone is populated with enemies that will make your investigation a real nightmare. The Occultist features an original soundtrack by renowned composer Pepe Herrero.

The Occultist, an interior psychological horror, is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC in 2025.
