Four Games Enter the World of VR, Including FlatOut! [VIDEO]

Four games not originally made for VR are being adapted for virtual reality, and they have been announced by Flat2VR Studios.

The name Flat2VR Studios says it all, and that’s exactly the treatment four games are getting. The biggest surprise of them all is FlatOut, Bugbear’s iconic classic off-road racing and car-crashing experience, which got a spiritual sequel in Wreckfest, and a sequel to that has been announced and we’ve covered it before. FlatOut VR is coming to Meta Quest 3, Meta Quest 2, PlayStation VR2 and SteamVR. No release date has been announced yet, and yes, you can fall out of your car windshield…

Tromboe Champ: Unflattened is a port of a meme game. Originally released in 2022, the fun thing about the trumpet master is that even the good players can create an amazing cacophony. We can control our hands and the instrument with our movements. A port from Holy Wow Studios and Flat2VR Studios will be released sometime this fall for Meta Quest 3, Meta Quest 2, PlayStation VR2, and SteamVR.

RyseUp and Flat2VR Studios are teaming up with Starbreeze Studios to create a VR version of a roguelike indoor shooter. Roboquest VR is in development, shortly after its original release, as Roboquest was released in 2023. It had full two player co-op, and hopefully Roboquest VR will have that option as well. The port is coming to Meta Quest 3, Meta Quest 2, PlayStation VR2 and SteamVR, but we don’t know when it will be released.

Finally, Wrath: Aeon of Ruin, released earlier this year, will also get a VR port. A hardcore FPS inspired by the first part of Quake, it puts the control of weapons directly in your hands. How will the manual reload system be handled? The game from KillPixel and Flat2VR Studios will be published by 3D Realms and Fulqrum Publishing for Meta Quest 3, Meta Quest 2, PlayStation VR2 and SteamVR respectively. There is no release date for this port either.

So there will be variety…
