Layoffs hits inFAMOUS: Second Son developer team

Earlier yesterday evening, rumors started to flow about layoffs that had hit the inFAMOUS: Second Son developer, Sucker Punch. Sadly, IGN was able to reach out to SCEA to confirm the validity of said rumors. Sony responded with the following statement:

SCEA can confirm a reduction in workforce has taken place at Sucker Punch Productions. Sucker Punch is appreciative of the tremendous work team members contributed to the inFAMOUS and Sly Cooper series, and wishes them the best in their next endeavors.

According to IGN, Sucker Punch developers who were involved with both the inFAMOUS and Sly Cooper series were laid off yesterday. It’s unclear how many people were affected, but a layoff is still a layoff. Our wishes go out to those who were hit.

In brighter news, inFAMOUS: First Light, the standalone DLC for inFAMOUS: Second Son will be available on the PlayStation 4 next week.
